Explore the capabilities of our Laser MicroJet® as it tackles the challenge of cutting Ceramic Matrix Composites, one of the toughest materials around. Our system guarantees precise and clean cuts without causing thermal damage, making it ideal for working with hard and brittle materials.

Discover the capabilities of our LCS 303 3-axis machine while cutting one of the toughest materials: Ceramic Matrix Composites. Cutting this ultra-hard and brittle material is particularly challenging, but our laser MicroJet® excels in handling even the most demanding materials with exceptional precision.

Watch how a small piece of stainless steel is cut and shaped into a delicate lady figure by our Laser Microjet®. Our water jet guided laser can remove the material in a single operation, ensuring no thermal damage and preserving a smooth surface with impeccably sharp edges.

Discover the capabilities of our water jet laser as it effortlessly cuts through a 0.65 mm-thick alumina ceramic plate. Experience the finesse of our cutting applications, from slotting to drilling, all while maintaining flawless precision that prevents micro-cracks and thermal damage.

Our LCS 303 can process a wide variety of materials, from ultra hard and brittle materials such as ceramics, to complex composites. In this video, you will see how our laser cut through a 15 mm thick piece of Zirconia toughened Alumina without inducing any micro-cracks.

Synova's Commitment to Sustainable Innovation

Synova actively strives to align its business practices with sustainable principles.

This chapter highlights Synova's comprehensive approach to sustainability and underscores the company's commitment to reducing its environmental impact, promoting social responsibility, and driving positive change within and beyond the industry.

Environmental Stewardship

Synova's path to sustainability begins with a focus on environmental responsibility. We seek to minimize negative environmental impacts by implementing sustainable practices. This includes using renewable energy sources and materials, using energy-efficient equipment, reducing and recycling waste and promoting a culture of sustainability within the organization.

Clean energy sources

Energy consumption at our head office amounts to around 400,000 kW per year. We cover around half of our energy consumption with solar energy from the in-house photovoltaic system installed in 2022. The solar panels are located on the roofs of the main building and the new production hall. We use local hydropower as a second source of energy.

EV charging stations

At the end of 2022, we installed electric vehicle charging stations on our premises in Duillier, ensuring our employees can power up their electric vehicles conveniently.

Renewable resources

Our new production hall and our extended main building are not just functional structures; they embody our commitment to sustainability. We have used renewable materials such as wood in their construction and have gone one step further by planting more than a dozen trees on the site to preserve the environment for future generations.

Sustainable waste management

By implementing efficient recycling programs, our company endeavors to reduce the amount of waste generated and promote the reuse of materials such as wooden crates and other packaging materials. Waste separation stations have been set up throughout the facility to enable the proper disposal of different types of waste.

Energy-efficient equipment

Our commitment to sustainability also extends to the efficient use of energy in our machines. We participate in projects aiming at measuring and improving the energy efficiency of our machines.

Social responsibility

Synova recognizes that true sustainability goes hand in hand with social responsibility. It's not just about reducing our carbon footprint; it's about making a positive impact on the lives of our employees and the communities we serve.

Employee well-being

Our employees are the heart of Synova. We prioritize their health, safety, and well-being, providing a safe working environment, ample training and development opportunities, and promoting a healthy work-life balance. Our newly equipped gym and inviting leisure area with a terrace are just a few of the ways we invest in our team.

Ethical Business Practices

At Synova, ethical decision-making isn't just a priority; it's a principle we live by. We ensure compliance with legal regulations and forge partnerships that create fair systems for wealth creation, as exemplified by our collaboration with the UN International Trade Center. Active participation in initiatives like the Kimberley Process showcases our commitment to ethical business practices.

Synova's sustainability strategy is not just a corporate initiative but reflects the company's values and its commitment to being a responsible business. Through environmental stewardship, social and ethical responsibility, and a relentless pursuit of innovation, Synova is paving the way for a more sustainable and equitable future.

Licensing principle

Synova is the inventor and original patent holder of the water jet guided laser technology (Laser MicroJet). Over the past 25 years, the LMJ technology and its related components have become technically mature, reliable, easy to use and to integrate.

OEMs and end-customers now have the possibility to integrate and apply the LMJ technology, including Synova’s vaste IP portfolio. There is no obligation to purchase any hardware or software parts from Synova. However, Synova proposes LMJ components (from a single coupling unit, via a full integration package, up to an entire machine).

The LMJ License contains no geographic limitation, application limitation or exclusivity.

Technical support

Synova offers technical support for all areas, such as:

  • Feasibility
  • Process parameters
  • System configuration
  • Applications
  • Integration
  • Automation
  • Process control (Industry 4.0)

Training and implementation support are invoiced at standard rates.

Cutting oscillating masses made out of heavy metals such as tungsten is a demanding task because tungsten is a difficult material to machine. In this video, you will see how precisely the LCS 303 cuts fancy shapes of oscillating masses without thermal damage or deformation.

The "DaVinci Diamond Factory" is an automated laser cutting & shaping system for diamonds. In this video, you see the processes involved in cutting a 4 mm thick CVD diamond, from planning to determining the facet cutting order and alignment to shaping the heart in one go.

See how the water jet guided Laser MicroJet® effortlessly cuts tough titanium and challenging ceramics. The LCS 303 laser cutting system produces intricate functional parts with minimal material loss and excellent surface quality.
